How The 2018 Aston Martin Vantage is Revolutionary for the Brand | The Newbie Car - Flamboyance GT

Expectations, anticipation and excitement. The feelings when a new car is born. We have a newbie here. This time, its a more than that. A new era has been born for Aston Martin. Class, style and elegance would be the words to use when describing the beautiful machines handbuilt by Aston Martin in England. But now, Aston Martin have created a revolution. A hooligan has been born. A rather interesting one at that. The launch of the DB11 started this. It replaced the massive grand touring V12s that were silky smooth and gradual in terms of power delivery with a new V12 that is more exciting and revvy. The entry of Mercedes AMG was marked with the AMG v8 in the DB11 V8. And now, we behold the Vantage. This clearly is a huge style newcomer for Aston Martin. From my point of view, this car seeks inspiration from the likes of the DB10, the Vulcan and a little hint of the Jaguar F Type in terms of design. History seems to be mildly repeating itself here like the DB7. When this car is pict...

The Ferrari 348 - The Most Underrated and Hated Ferrari Of Flamboyance? | The Super Car - Flamboyance GT

Image
The Ferrari 348 was a huge style evolution, but not quite a revolution for Ferrari. Back then, the 308 and the 328 were known for their boxy wedge shape. Now don't get me wrong. The wedge shape is iconic, but the 308 and the 328 looked rather, well... like something was missing. They weren't even selling in really good numbers for their time. Enter the 348. This car brought back the same wedge shape, but with a huge difference. They say it is often the little things which make the greatest impact. It holds true and this car did just that. It is often surprising how adding a few curves can nearly revolutionize an often repeated design. What's more is the insane 80's style side streaks. Even the rear taillights had a similar design. All of this were echoeing design cues from the iconic Testarossa. The 348 was often called, "The baby Testarossa" as it was similar in design in a lot of ways, but just smaller. Let's dive deeper into the design. Cars...

The TVR Cerbera- An Epic British Made Beast Of Flamboyance | The Super Car - Flamboyance GT

Image
Talking about cars almost unknown outside the UK, TVR remains one of the best kept secrets in the automotive world. Founded by Trevor Wilkinson in 1947, TVRs were known to be featherweight sports cars which... Killed you. TVR had always been, "Safety? Let's look it up in a dictionary where pages with words starting from 'S' are missing." But there has always been one specific thing about them. TVRs were known to go head to head against some of the most expensive supercars in the world. The Cerbera is no exception. Let's talk a bit more about this three headed best from Greek mythology. And a rare one at that, with only about 2000 built. The cerbie was TVR's first time, trying their hand at building a "family car." As amusing as it sounds, it is the first 2+2 TVR. The rear seats are certainly not Roller or Beamer inspired. More Porker inspired, I must say. Just a little better. But that is absolutely no drawback. You know why? Do you re...

The Lotus Esprit - Flamboyant Italian Design At Its Heartbreaking Best | The Car - Flamboyance GT

Image
Ah.... The Lotus Esprit. The quintessential poster car of the 70s and 80s. The beautiful wedge shape straight out of Italdesign Giugiaro, a singing 4 cylinder engine and gorgeously sweet handling all contributed to one hell of a stunner in the name of a car. Now, we will talk about the first gen esprit, and not the Peter Stevens redesign. That will be a future post, so do expect that. But for now, just stop what you are doing and look at the picture above. Let your passionate eyes savour the beautiful lines of the Esprit.   The Esprit was a beauty that was produced from 1976 to 2005. The first gen cars stretched from 1976 to 1987 and this included the S1, the S2 and the S3 Esprits. The Esprit was an exotic sports car, that at the time of its release at the Paris auto show, recieved critical acclaim for its handling . Seriously, this car had only 4 cylinders, but it took on and nibbled at the heels of even supercars of that era, simply because the handling was so m...

The Maserati 3200 GT- The Last True Maserati Coupe? | The Car - Flamboyance GT

Image
Yes, you read the title right. Don't know much about the 3200? I wouldn't blame you. But it's still a true automotive crime since we're talking about a car that's much more than what it looks like. The 3200 is simply put, an Italian exotic that's been unfairly overlooked, except of course, by the purists who know what they are. This car can be called, the last true Maserati. Do allow your impatient mind to allow me to explain more. But before I do that, do take your time to have a good ol' look at the picture above. Feast your eyes on the beautiful curves and lines of the brute lovingly hand drawn. Yes. Hand drawn. By me. (Do forgive me if the "artwork" is not pleasing enough to your perceptive eyes).   Now, the question arises. How can an exotic of this pedigree be overlooked? The answer is simple. Fairly poor marketing on its part, not much of media publicity and fairly low numbers in terms of production ( they built about 4,795 3200s)....
